Youre style is so interesting, I love it! Obviously the content is very eastern, which is common in a lot of your images, but even the way you are rendering this image seems to be borrowing from eastern artwork (if that makes sense?) The way your lines are flowing, the characters face is done very japanese-like, and the trees in the background are simplified in a very eastern fashion. But its all your own, and very unique and very natural looking : ) I love seeing your work
I understand what you are saying in regards to the "borrowing from Eastern artwork", and for the most part it is done on purpose. The commissioner requested this pose as it is common in many Japanese woodblock print imagery (I always loved that flowing bend and the way the cloth ripples out and away from the figure.)
Oh, I just lost the words. The Heian attire fets this tigress very well. The green and red spouses well with the scenery. It has also a little bit the feel of a Nô-stage with the cypresses around. You matched the haircut, the attire and posture completely. Thank you for this wonderful work.
