It takes an hour or two to paint, though sometimes the idea / sketching process can take a while.

My inspiration derives from Japanese folklore, specifically the youkai animal stories :)

Cool and thanks :3 also i looked at your lil tut. about how to stain ur paper but i'm a lil confused think you can explain a lil more? and can it be any white paper?

My apologies for the late reply~

Regarding tea staining, the paper I only have experience with using is white illustration board. It is somewhat thick and has a slightly textured surface. The thickness keeps the paper from bowing, and the surface accepts many different mediums. Thin paper or ones with a hotpress (smooth) surface probably wouldn't work as well.
